Milestones, milestones....

Good evening! I spoke to Michele earlier this evening and Quincey has new milestones to report! (BOY DO I LOVE TO UPDATE THE BLOG WITH ALL OF THESE MILESTONES!!)

Quincey has been allowed to take her neck brace off at night! This is a week earlier than anticipated! It must feel great not to have to try to sleep with that brace on. Also in the sleep department, her care is so good that she is not being bothered by the staff as often as she was during the night. She is only disturbed every 3 1/2 hours or so now. ANOTHER HUGE MILESTONE!

Quincey had another great day in therapy today. She enjoyed a visit from some family today. She also received a visit from a pastor and received "Peter the Pup". There is a story behind the naming of this stuffed animal in Acts 3. (I gotta go get my bible!!!)

Quincey has made a new friend (well, more than one but this one is the 4 legged kind!). She has been hanging with a therapy dog named Nimoy. He is 8 years old. They absolutely love each other. We are hoping to post some pictures in the near future.

Today in Occupational Therapy, the therapist gave her two choices of therapy. Quincey said she wanted to "pump iron".

As you probably read in the comments from last nights post, Quincey's Aunt Tara provided the following bible verse. I am putting this verse on the post tonight at Michele and Quincey's request because they both loved it so much.

"...'This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you...." 2Kings 20:5

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23

God's blessings and peace to you,

Shari

  1. Hey Quincey!
Glad you had suck a great day again yesterday! I heard a joke yesterday and it was silly and funny so I thought I'd pass it on...

"An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen. The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, "Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.

The other man said, "What is the name of the restaurant?" The first man thought and thought and finally said, "What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love? You know... the one that's red and has thorns."

"Do you mean a rose?" "Yes, that's the one," replied the man.

He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, "Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?"

Hope it makes you laugh :) You and Michele have a great day!

    xoxo

  2. Hi Buddy!
Well, I just finished Personal Training and decided I would write you a quick note. I can't wait to be Personal Training you!! It won't be long! When I have been praying, the Lord has been putting on my heart how important it is to speak out what we believe and what we are standing on! I know it isn't easy for you to talk to yourself - I do it so much that I get really lonely if I don't! I know there is so much power in words and in our tongue. Prov. 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it (for death or life). Matt. 12:37 For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced. Matt. 12:34 For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.
Which, if you keep all of His word in your heart and you speak all of it over your body ALL the time, you will eat the fruit (i.e. walk, feel GREAT, etc.!) of what you say! Wow! Isn't that good!
We ran our CFD (chinese firedrill) this morning. I think I am going to re-name that drill to QFD for Quincey's Fire Drill! What do you think? Mariah was kind of crabby until we did it, so I know that doing this in your name is helping with grumpiness as well as giving God the GLORY for all He has done! Do you realize that your healing has already been done! If you really get that in your heart, there is no way to have a down day - Satan has no power in the depression area of anyone's life if we truly get that! How awesome is that?!
God is worthy of all our praise and when praise goes up, blessing rain down!!! I know it is hard to praise Him when you are not feeling well, but just try it and I think you will be amazed! I love you and miss you tons, and am so proud of you! Keep the food coming because your appetite is increasing every minute. I know there is a way to have the ice cream place deliver - I am sure we could work something out to add a few pounds!!
    Love you buddy,
    Aunt Tara

  3. OK Bud! I have another scripture for you. Gal. 3:13 Christ purhased our freedom (healing)(redeeming us) from the curse (doom)(sickness, disease) of the Law (and its condemnation) by (Himself) becoming a curse for us, for it is written (in the Scriptures), Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified).
I know that when Jesus died on the cross, He went to hell and took back the keys of authority from Satan. Satan took the keys of authority from Adam when Adam and Eve sinned. Everyone who makes that choice to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior has that authority! Therefore, you have all authority in YOU to speak it over your body! God has already given healing, prosperity, wholeness, etc. to you when Jesus died on that cross. The rest is up to us to call out for that authority and use it! It is like having a car and never putting the key in the ignition to start it and drive it. You have to do that to make it work. Authority is the same way! God has already paid the price - we just need to use it!! I love you and know that we are going to see the miraculous in your life, but I also know that God is waiting on you to speak it out and to use the authority He paid for for your healing!! It is coming, just be BOLD!! I love you and kiss your mom for me.

  5. Hi Girls!

Another busy week coming to a close. Sounds like it has been rewarding.

The weather looks threatening over here. Went from 28 degrees at 6:00 a.m. to 41 degrees at 7:00. Not looking forward to rain on top of the goopey mess we have going on this week. You know how it is when the feed lot starts melting. It's running brown!

Quincey have a great verse from Isaiah today.

~See, I have engraved you on the
    palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me. ~ Isa 49:16

God is the only one that can make our walls a door. His compassion for us will NEVER fail.

Our prayer for you today is that He will watch over you all with great love and tenderness. We ask that you are assured He will never leave you. Amen!

    Have a GREAT Friday!

    Love to All,
    Miles & Teresa

  7. Hi Buddy,
I sure miss you and can't wait to see you!! I just wanted to remind you of something Papa Snyder (Pa!) told me when I was leaving today, "Today Quincey is one day closer to walking out of the hospital!" That was an awesome statement to think about. It makes me realize we are even closer than I thought!! I know your stomach is feeling better and the weight and strength is coming back strong. Keep doing all you can and God will do the rest! (What is impossible to man, is possible to God!!) Love you tons and tons (and your mom too!)!

  11. Hey Quincey,
We started calving the other nite and was wondering when your getting out of there so you can help us on the nite crew. Cheryl and I are having some real good fist fights to see who gets the pleasures of nite watch and I've been on the loosing end, needless to say I'm trying to adjust to nites. Oh well get healed up and give me a hand. I went to co-op the other day and bought a drencher and was thinking of sending you one so when you didn't feel up to eating you could drench yourself or have your mom do it, to give you the nourishment and energy that your needed to get you back on your feet again. It sounds like the eating is starting to come back so hopefully I won't need to send the drencher. Quincey, you've got to shake your head and wonder how God blessed you with a bunch of "Hillbilly Rejects" for a family eh! One thing about it we are easily self-intertained being this way.
Quinc, Pull your hat down and keep after it little buddy don't weaken at any cost! We love you and are praying for you it won't be long.

P.s. Michele I agree you are a great mom!"YOU ROLL".

    Your Proud,
    Uncle Trent

  12. Quincey:

Bless you. I have been talking to friends for some time about how God uses us. It seems that His ways are greater than our ways.
It is easy to look at our skills, talents, and passions and draw the conclusion that God will use us in these arenas. When in all actuality, God will use us in ways greater than we can imagine.
It is a blessing when God calls us out of comfort zone to fulfill His calling. I do not know how God will use you. I do know that it will be greater than we can imagine or think.
looking at the support, encouragement, and prayers that you are gettings, I know that His hand is upon you. You can only succeed and be blessed. YOU are blessed of God.
    Love and prayers, Jody
