The Climb

Good afternoon all of my fellow Snyder friends. I received an email from Michele last night and I was in Grand Junction so I am updating today.

Here is the email that I was sent:

"Well...Quincey fans we have been home 6 1/2 weeks already. It has been great being able to see so many of you and look forward to seeing many more in the weeks to come. This situation has been called many things...some of said its a journey, others a process. Let me jump back in time for a moment....

While we were still at Craig Hospital we went to see the new Hannah Montana movie...don't laugh its a great movie with a great moral message. At the end of that movie she sings a song called "The Climb". It basically says life is a climb and that there is some uncertainty at times, your faith is tested but you keep pressing through, you keep climbing, you keep commanding that mountain to move. This is the link that you have not heard it but would like to read the lyrics http://www.metrolyrics.com/the-climb-lyrics-miley-cyrus.html We all decided this situation for our family is just that, The Climb. "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to the mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20 NIV.

This is by far the most rugged, treacherous, threatening, jagged, unforgiving mountain we have faced in our family in our lifetime. It has only been through God's graces and mercies that we are still on course, still climbing, still commanding the mountain to move out of faith, belief and hope. We know the peace, comfort and strength that is present can only come from God. "We walk by faith, not by sight." 2Corinthians 5:7

Quincey is doing great. The change we have seen in the last 6 1/2 weeks has been tremendous. We have seen her take 30+ steps on land and with assistance from a walker or mom and Aunt Tara. From sitting to standing requires almost no assistance. Her legs are very strong. Her right side is slightly behind the left in strength and movement BUT it is not far behind. Her left hand is getting stronger with more dexterity in her fingers. She has been attending open gym to keep up on all the workout routines and new plays. She will be attending basketball camp with the team the middle of June. She is making preparations with expectation to play again the game she loves. To see the dreams God has placed in her heart come to fruition. She practices everyday shooting hoops. She started out with a small squishy basketball smaller than a tennis ball tossing it into a small plastic trash can shaped like a basketball hoop. She now is shooting a basketball about the size of two tennis balls into that same trash can. She keeps stepping out in faith knowing God will meet her. She has also started online courses to catch up in all her classes. This will have her prepared to begin her senior year right where she needs to be. Oh, I almost forgot, she continues to work with her 4-H pig Peggy Sue. She sees her everyday, somes twice a day and feeds her plenty of cookies. One for you....one for me. We will see who gains the most weight by August.

We will keep you all posted. For my prayer warriors out there....specifically we ask you pray for hands, wrists, fingers, right side and strength in all those areas.

With much love,

Your day is blessed,

Quincey and family

"Then David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the bursting forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim (the God of breakthrough)." 1Chronicles 14:11

Believe your breakthrough is coming everyday....expect it. Today may be your Baal perazim!

  2. Quincey,
It was so wonderful to see you and your Mom (and Dozer too)! You are such an inspiration and a testament to what having faith means. I loved seeing your onery grin again, I had really missed that. Well I am going to need to know what kinda of shakes you like, and I'll bring one for Peggy Sue too, ...that is only fair. Our prayers continue and we rejoice in how amazing you look and you feel.

"See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost."

I can see the working of his miracles in you Quincey, and He has found you and will keep you and reward you for your unwaivering faith and perserverance.

We hope to see you again soon,
    In God's Love,
    Dianne and Craig Boe

  3. Keep climbing Quincey. As Habakkuk rejoiced " GOD, the Lord, is my strength; He makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places." Those high places are places few have the faith to climb to, but our Lord gives some the chance to see the view from there. I pray His continued healing and faith to you Quincey. Hope to see you soon.
