Hello - I have great news tonight! Quincey is out of ICU tonight! She was moved to a private suite - "swanky" is what Shane told his mom! When they moved Quincey all of the ICU staff was happy for her but they were sad to see her go. They all promised to come see her in her new room as soon as they can. What an impact she is having down there. Miami will never be the same!
Quincey sat up for 4 hours today. She told her parents that she would sit up all night if it meant she could get out of there!
Quincey's appetite is returning. (She's even eating her Mom and Dad's food!)
Quincey is having such a positive effect on everyone she comes in contact with. She has a head nurse who is quite stern and has a "military" type personality. Quincey has even softened her heart. The other nurses are absolutely amazed at the effect Quincey has had on her.
Quincey's therapist is a believer and believes in the power of healing. When she looks into Quincey's eyes she sees the belief that Quincey has.
They are waiting for a room in Colorado! Hopefully, it will be soon.
"He that dwelleth in LOVE dwelleth in God." 1John 4:16
God is amazing and good! Here's hoping that God's blessing are with you tonight!
In God's love,
Shari

ReplyDeleteYYYYAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!! It's amazing to hear how good things are going!! I'm not gonna lie though I'm kinda jealous of the "military" nurse since she gets to see you everyday and we are all just sitting here waiting til we can do something. O well :) it's not a suprise at all at the affect you have on all the nurses. We all knew you had the potential to affect everyone's life, even from ICU. But anyway if i haven't said it already (although i'm pretty sure i have) i am SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 glad you are doing so well! :) Keep being strong and changing everyone's lives. Hi All,
ReplyDeleteWhat a huge step - OUT OF ICU!!! Pure music to our ears. Praise the Lord.
We want to send you a couple of bible verses that are perfect for today. They've probably been used before but they are soooo good we're going to use them again.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
I actually saw a young man with a tat on his forearm that said Phil 4:13. It's probably the only tattoo I ever understood. I would have to say it was COOL! Hey Quincey, ever think about getting a tattoo? I just heard your Mom & Dad gasp!
Love You,
Miles & Teresa
Hello From Utah. Wow!! What a great end to my day to read that you are out of ICU and having such a good day. I called your Grandpa Larry as soon as I read it. I have been calling him every night with what the Blog says and then I copy them and send them to him since his computer doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteYou are making such great progress each day you are going to set a new world record for recovering from an accident of this nature. You Go Girl! Keep up the great work. It goes to show what faith and determination can do for you. I know you are going to have good and bad days, but you are going to recover 100% and be home in no time with the rest of your family and friends. We are keeping you and your family in our prayers. Love to all Vicki&Family
Thanks Shari for doing the blog for all of us I so appreciate it. Such a great thing to know each day what is happening. Thanks again.
Quincey, Shane & Michele,
ReplyDeleteMom wanted me to tell you that she is not very techy but that she wants to tell you that you are all in her prayers. She has lyrics of a song that she is going to send (I am going to help her on Friday).
All our love,
Scott, Shari, Danika, Corey, Caleb and Gail
Hi Quincey,
ReplyDeleteI heard your out of ICU. They probably need that room for a really sick person, (one that behaves their self). And don't mess with that very stern, miltary nurse, she might set you back on your keester!!
Karen and I finished up the upstairs, so we can get to the pool table again. So the next time you feel "froggy" and think you can hold your own, you and your Dad can come over and I'll spank you both again. ( I kill me )
Seriously, we are praying "specifically" for total restoration. We want to see you walking into the shop, fighting with your sisters, (and your Mother), talking trash about your last pool exploits!!! We miss all you guys and we know that God will take this and turn it to good, cause that's what He does, and He's real good at what He does.
We look forward to seeing you guys soon.
We love you Quincey, Ken & Karen
Dear Quincey, Michele, and Shane:
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear you are doing much better and are able to all be together! We're all praying for you up here in North Dakota. We pray that you continue to feel better and can all come home as soon as possible! There's no better way to recover than to be surrounded by family and friends! My family sends their wishes. Miss you and love you all!
xoxo

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! A kid's always feeling better when they're snagging food! That is awesome news! Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you God. Sometimes the answers to our prayers is a "YES!!" That's seriously the best news I've heard all year! (Even if the year is only 8 days old!)
ReplyDeleteHere's a couple things that made me smile...children's notes to God.
***********************************************
Dear God: I didn't think orange went with purple until I saw the sunset you made on Tuesday. That was cool.
Dear God: Maybe Cain and Abel would not have killed each other so much if they had their own rooms. That's what my Mom did for me and my brother.
Dear God: If You watch me in church on Sunday, I'll show You my new shoes.
Dear God: In school they told us what You do. Who does it when You're on vacation?
Dear God: Is it true my father won't get in Heaven if he uses his bowling words in the house?
Dear God: I went to this wedding and they kissed right in the church. Is that okay?
Dear God: Did You really mean "do unto others as they do unto you"? Because if You did, then I'm going to get my brother good.
Dear God: Please send me a pony. I never asked for anything before. You can look it up.
Dear God: I want to be just like my Daddy when I get big, but not with so much hair all over.

Much love sunshine & continued prayers...Lisa
Dear Quincey,
ReplyDeleteWhat great news to hear you are out of ICU!!!!! The power of prayer is amazing, but your strength and your beliefs are also helping you heal. Before you know it, you will be back at the bonfires. It sounds like I better stock up on hotdogs if your appetite is increasing( I think ten was your max). I subbed at the high school on Monday and I kept expecting you to pop in and say "Hi". We miss you and can't wait for you to come home. We keep praying for you and all of your family.
Michele and Shane - Hang in there! I know how hard it can be to see your child in a hospital and wondering what the next day will bring. Miracles do happen ( our son, Shane, is living proof). She is a high spirited and strong-willed girl and nothing will hold her back. Some days she will make great strides, other days baby steps, but before long she will be home. Make sure you take care of yourselves, too.
All Our Love and Prayers,
The Mellos
Hey Quincey,
ReplyDeleteI was going to mail these to you. I'm not one for quoting scripture, so I thought these might do:

Look well into thyself; there is a source of strength which will always spring up if thou wilt always look there.

"And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up..." James 5:15
Oh praise God for His awesome love and healing!!!! Quincey will live and thrive and her restoration to perfect health will glorify our wonderful Father, whose mercy endures forever. Thank you, heavenly Father for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to Your Word. God bless you every step of the way, Quincey! Love, Tina Mattern
ReplyDeleteWe pray for you constantly and we praise God for his healing touch. We praise him for all those who are praying for the Snyders, and especially for Shari who has kept us all so well informed. May our good Lord bless them all indeed; may he make his face shine upon them and give them peace.
ReplyDeleteIn Christ's love and God's grace always,
Mick & Jenny
Right on Quincey! Luke was praying for you tonight before he went to bed. He will be happy to hear you are out of ICU.I hope the new room is not too "swank" (as your dad puts it). We don't want you to become too attached to Miami.
ReplyDeleteHey Quincy,
ReplyDelete"Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed." Psalm 119:122
We are so happy to hear of your progress! We knew with God's grace and your determination you would begin to have complete restoration.
"...If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." James 4:15
I hope they put your jersey on a chair tomorrow so you are right there with them! Of course you will be on everyone's mind. I think it will give a whole new meaning to the pre-game prayer. There is so much to be thankful for! I always admired you girls for holding hands, bowing your heads and praying before a game.
When you get back to CO I have a lot of scarves you can borrow ( remember the ones I used to wear to practice?) They support and...they are stylish. What more can you ask for!
I also wish that I could share with you my 4,993 magazines (since pee wee practice is over I don't have much time to read at night!)
Keep up the good work and keep pushing yourself. It sounds as if you are making quite an impression down there! Every day will bring new challenges greet them with a smile of determination and remember...
"Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28
Michele and Shane you are so often in our prayers for your stamina and strength. There is a special place in heaven for parents like you.
"I will refresh the weary and satisy the faint" Jeremiah 31:25
It is wonderful to witness the power of prayer.
We pray God gives you good rest this night for the challenges of tommorrow.
"But as for me I will always have hope;
I will praise you more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long though I know not its measure." Psalm 71:14
With God's saving Grace,
Dianne and Craig Boe
Praise God! Yay!!!!
ReplyDeleteDiane, Leah and Bethany!
Aunt Sherry and Uncle Chuck: We experienced the caring of a Ronald McDonald house when Brittany had her surgery. Wonderful place. Glad Michelle and Shane can have that support also. Hang Tough Quincey as we all want you home as aoon as possible. We are all saying our prayers for you restoration. Love to all
ReplyDeleteQuincey,
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear you are feeling better. I look forword to seeing you in the 4-H meetings. I know this will not be for a while. But if you keep your faith in God things will turn out fine. One of my favorite verses is 1 Cor.13:13 "Now abide in faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." I just want you to know that we love you and are praying for your fast recovery.
